Among several water electrolysis technologies, which are key for green hydrogen production, Solid Oxide Electrolyser Cells (SOECs) is known for its high energy efficiency compared to other low temperature processes such as alkaline water electrolysis (AWE) or proton-exchange membrane (PEM) type. Nippon Shokubai is advancing the development of specialized electrolyte sheets for SOECs, which is a crucial component of the system. Nippon Shokubai is able to mass produce these zirconia sheets using our proprietary ceramic powder processing technology and ceramic firing technology. Examples of our ceramic materials are 3YSZ, 8YSZ, 6ScSZ, 10Sc1CeSZ. Our extensive product lineup and custom-made products are readily applicable to systems with electrolyte-supported cells.
